Ever wonder what it takes to make those mouth-watering food photos you see online, in magazines and advertisements? Look no further than this hands-on class. We will cover the process of food photography, from understanding color and styling the food for the greatest impact to the final photos and how to frame images for a desired end product, whether it’s a magazine, menu, or a competition ready image. Also, how your images can convey the right mood to tell your story, whether it’s a bright and lively Spring shoot or a dark and romantic evening for two. This is a hands on class where everyone will get a chance to design and photograph several different sets. We will also cover some of the do’s and especially the don’ts of professional food photography. As a bonus, we will also cover photographing glassware such as bottles and glasses and how to light them for the greatest visual impact. You will find that photographing food can be rewarding because it is taking the standard still life and adapting it to tell the story you want to tell. It is a great way to push your creativity because you have complete control over the entire session, from styling (posing) to lighting to camera angle.
Bio: Logan Commercial Studios, Inc is located in South Deerfield, MA and specializes in commercial photography, mainly product photography, both food and product photos, and also Business and Actor Headshots. Rich Logan is the President and Lead Photographer. He founded Blazing Light Photography in 2013 after retiring from his previous career, and Logan Commercial Studios is the latest brand under the Blazing Light umbrella. He earned his Certified Professional Photographer (CPP) certification in 2022 and is currently working on his Master of Photography and Photographic Craftsman Degrees.
Lunch: Will be going out for lunch on your own or your can bring your own
What to Bring: Camera, tripod, 100mm lens, and godox trigger if you have any of these
All PPA member attendees will receive 1 Merit.
